Seriously, for some time ive been feeling that blogging's quite a dreary activity, yet theres so many times when i sit in front of my comp screen with the urge to put up an entry but nothing flows through my mind. After the poignant task of facing the results, currently on my mind are half-baked plans with regard to the university applications. my original intention of applying into ntu mass comm doesnt seem feasible for now, but its alright, i dont really feel too sore about it after sorting out my thoughts and questioning myself- its like growing disillusionment taking place, with me still taking my last wistful look at it. and so, with forthcoming friends/seniors, ive been trying to understand whats with the different courses and all, hoping to be able to discover sth that im equally or MORE interested in. i was telling some people that i might consider studying chinese at ntu (why is it ntu again) and i know there are varied reactions la, like zt giving me that kind of reaction lol. i feel that theres sth in me that wants to continue pursuing chinese and im surprised with this new-found passion for it, 'cos honestly, i took chinese primarily 'cos i felt that im able to achieve a better grade for it than those science-related subjects. naturally, the interest for it becomes secondary when you know you'll need to contend with those major exams. well, but the good thing is, this may be an alternative route for me too, like if i major in chinese, i can get a chance to minor in mass comm, or if i do well in 1st year i may be offered a chance to take double majors for chi/mass comm, but i think the modules offered under minor do not include those which i'll prefer to take. i dont really know how many people are actually offered such an opportunity 'cos i think its tough to double-major and your grades need to be woo hoo, wayyy fantastic.Well, yarrr..so i dont know lor, if i should just go for it. other than that, im just gonna apply to all 3 universities' social sciences and see what i can get in. theres a course (CNM) under social science at nus which sparks off some of my interest, but it might be a lil too technological for me to handle. (im a comp-idiot) actually i think social sciences are fine too, wouldnt really mind majoring in them as well, but i suppose i cant be very passionate about studying them with a rather vague idea about them! i think the university websites can try to simplify their usage of words just for the sole purpose of promoting their courses. if we dont geddit, how can we make an informed choice? or...it might have to do with my own language proficiency/command thats not up to standard to comprehend the otherwise in my own interpretation, chunks of disjointed adjectives/vocab. mur. maybe i should put my hopes on the university open house, which should be more enlightening, unless some professor comes along to complicate whats already shown on the website.Wow its a long entry. means time to go off. would be venturing into KL this weekend with my friends, FINALLY a 1st overseas trip materialising. and did i mentioned somewhere that "nothing flows through my mind?" hurrrr! i was just joking, really.
